Neoprene rubber gaskets are cut from a strong, synthetic material and are primarily used in external sealing applications. The elastomer offers good resistance to abrasion and provides excellent resistance to ozone, ageing and weathering.
Asbestos Gaskets. Gaskets create a tight seal between pipes or pieces of machinery. Common types of asbestos gaskets include rope, oval, sheet and spiral wound gaskets.
Spiral wound gasket (SWG) consists of thin metal hoop and nonmetal filler material that are simultaneously wound. The metal hoop is pre-formed in V or W shaped profile, which allows the gasket to act as a spring between the flanges.
