Product Overview
A Hygienic Union is a specialized mechanical joint that allows sections of a process line to be disconnected without cutting the pipe. Unlike industrial threaded unions, these are designed with a “flush” internal bore, ensuring that no product remains trapped at the joint, which is vital for maintaining a sterile environment.
Precision Components for Aseptic Integrity
Each union assembly consists of four precision-machined components:
-
The Male Part: Features an external thread.
-
The Liner: A smooth-bore component that mates with the male part.
-
The Nut: A heavy-duty round or hex nut that pulls the assembly together.
-
The Seal: A high-performance gasket (EPDM, Silicone, or Viton) that ensures a leak-proof, crevice-free interface.
Seamless Integration with Global Standards
We stock unions that comply with the world’s leading hygienic engineering codes:
-
SMS 1146 (Swedish Milk Standard): Recognized for its compact design and ease of use in beverage and liquid food manifolds.
-
DIN 11851 (German Standard): A robust, heavy-duty union widely used throughout European chemical and pharmaceutical facilities for its high-pressure resilience.
High-Purity Metallurgy and Finish
Constructed from AISI 304 or 316L Stainless Steel, our unions are fully resistant to the aggressive acids and high-temperature steam used in Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Steam-in-Place (SIP) protocols. All wetted surfaces are mirror-polished to Ra < 0.6μm, ensuring the joint remains free of bacterial harbor points.
